Not for cooking! Nay. This kit is for first aid. Lots of first aid! Certainly the most triangular of all the sets that I’ve seen, that’s for sure. This “First Aid Support Kit” by Kristine Erdman is rough, tough, and full of all the red-and-white gear you’ll need straight out of the trunk (or boot, depending on where you’re coming from) of your auto. This set keeps in mind that the majority of the people who provide fellow citizens with first aid have no idea

Cadaval & Sola-Morales projected a vernacular dry stone house in the Pyrenees with the aim to transform it into a comfortable and utilitarian second residence. The project elaborates on the physical connections between two homes coexisting in a single rehabilitated envelope, since fathers and sons want separated homes but shared experiences. The programmatic scheme and the interrelations of spaces of both houses are tided up to these vertical connections. What qualifies those spaces, howe

Celine Dion and her husband Rene Angelil recently had a mansion constructed for their family in Florida. This new project costed the couple $20million (£13.9million) and a lot of neighborhood racket. An aquatic wonderland, this 9,825 square feet home is also located in the proximity of the ocean. Its exact location is on Jupiter Island, where some of the wealthiest stars

Most photographers use a sturdy camera strap while clicking pictures and here’s an idea that wants to capitalize on it. This is done by making the strap solar-savvy! Meaning, adding thin solar films across the width of the strap, so as to harness solar energy when out on the field. Aptly christened the Solar Camera Strap, it’s a neat idea; when we can have solar panels on backpacks and what not, then why not on a camera strap! Designer: Weng Jie

Here is an interesting and very cool idea for some bookcase extra storage space. “Plus One” comes from Matthias Ries and it has a fresh and youthful feel. This unusual shelving addition is not only functional, but also surprisingly sleek. It can help improve the look of a dull bookcase and it can also emphasize on those books or magazines one considers special. An

Located just outside of Paris, Bigoni-Mortemard Architectes projected the seven houses like a small medina around an alley. Four of the houses have their living rooms on the second floor, connected to the sky through a series of terraces leading onto the roof, where a small kitchen has been placed. The contrast between the austerity of the facades and the generosity of dimensions and light of the inner spaces is surprising. The handcrafted finish of the white facades give an almost Mediterrane

Only a decade into 21st century and we’ve already witnessed homeless millions getting affected by some of the worst catastrophes. Given that design for disaster relief shelters is all over our minds. German designer Adrian Lippmann, founder of interior design firm form-al has constructed a ‘fold flat shelter’ for the purpose. The tent like structure designed u

Davide Macullo Architects projected another stunning house located in the Swiss Alpine village of Lumino.
This house stands as a monolithic element, quietly complementing and echoing its context. The surrounding area is characterized by traditional store built houses, many of which date back centuries and are marked by their use of this single contraction mater

The White/Perrin ocean house comes from Dock4 Architecture and it is located in Bull Bay, North Bruny Island, Tasmania. The owners were so fascinated by the site’s features such as the beautiful coast landscapes and the secluded beach, that they considered building a home there a must. The steepest part of the area was chosen which means dramatic views of the ocean

The Page Chaser is a flexible bookmark that automatically marks the page as you turn them. Ordinary bookmarks can fall out and require you to correctly mark where you left off. Why waste all that precious brain power on something so mundane? The Page Chaser catches every page as you turn. It’s an incredibly simply design that never falls out. Cheap, easy to manufacture, and handy. Win in my book. Designer: Hyeon Joo Lee
