sky taxi

With the increasing number of vehicles causing messy traffic jams, we need to think about alternate means of commutation, unless you really enjoy those naps when driving to and back from your office. Providing a solution, Indonesian designer Rizki Tarisa has proposed an air-travel system that will not only allow brisk commutation, in comparison to roads, but also make traveling safe and comfortable, while covering a wide range of stations. Hailed as “SKY TAXI,” the airborne service will replace the massive jets with small or medium capacity aircrafts for short distance travels.

Designed for the KLM Indonesia Aircraft Design Competition 2009, the SKY TAXI services apart from catering cities with big airports will also provides services in minor places with medium or even smaller airports. The SKY TAXI services will further be supported by a long distance, high capacity aircraft carrier called “MOEDER” (pictured above) that will carry five Medium Capacity Aircrafts (MCA) and drop or depart them in the midway to serve the medium or small range destination, without wasting any time in landing and taking off again.
