The Page Chaser is a flexible bookmark that automatically marks the page as you turn them. Ordinary bookmarks can fall out and require you to correctly mark where you left off. Why waste all that precious brain power on something so mundane? The Page Chaser catches every page as you turn. It’s an incredibly simply design that never falls out. Cheap, easy to manufacture, and handy. Win in my book. Designer: Hyeon Joo Lee

Aww look how cute! It’s a 8-digit basic calculator with a hopscotch keyboard configuration! Okay  it doesn’t do anything special so the design is totally novel but who cares! It brings back memories of tossing a shoe or stick and hopping across a poorly drawn grid on the sidewalk. Sigh, if only playing with numbers were really that much fun. God I hate math, just saying…Size: 55 mm x 110 mm x 10mmColour: white case, large grey rubber keyMaterials: ABS plastic, rubber key, 8-di

Spending long hours on a beach without proper seating or furniture is neither comfortable nor viable, but one cannot carry bulky chairs or loungers to remote beaches all the time. Providing a solution, studio Biuro-K has created a portable beach bag that unfolds into a seat to rest you in comfort. Made in bendable plywood (varnished), the fl

In a world where people appreciate good design everywhere, cool mini hotel rooms are the latest ‘it’ trend. In Tokyo, the  Capsule Inn exemplifies the bare-essentials hotel rooms for brief use, and similar concepts are popping up at airports, train stations and downtowns around the world, replacing and mimicking the “day rooms” already existing at many airports.   Unlike Tokyo’s bed-only cabins where customers climb into a human equivalent of a honeycom

When a hearing impaired person says I have ‘felt’ Elton John’s ‘Sacrifice’ and I really loved it, don’t assume the person gone crazy since he or she owns a Ripple for sure. This speaker uses the vibration of music to stimulate the particular part of a deaf person’s brain that gets activated when a person with no hearing difficulties listen to music and contains an oscilloscope to show the wave patterns of the sound. The main focus of the project is to explore the possibility of perceiving music

Taking the best of both, the traditional kettles and Jug kettles, the product tank kettle is a cross between the two designs. The hybrid kettle gives you the convenience of easy filling, carrying and pouring, thanks to two handles that provide multiple grip points. The thick insulated walls not only save energy by keeping the water warmer for long

AlertMe is an evolutionary step in home monitoring systems. Not the first of its kind but it did pick up first place at the Design Week Awards so that perked my attention. Thru a system of wireless hubs and attachments, every power aspect is tracked and properly relayed to a website you can check from any location. The system even detects motion so it doubles as a securit

We have seen some most distinctive Apple accessories in the past, but here is an innovative speaker set that is sure to turn your heads with its unique design. It slices, it dices, it cuts pizza into fifteen bits! It’s the “Delux Paint Pod Micro!” WAIT that can’t be right. Ok it’s called the “DUlux Paint Pod Micro.” Ohhh ok. What does it do? It paints with automatic rollers. Simply insert the 250ml cartridge of paint into the handle and presto! Ready to go. Press the thumb delivery button and the flow of paint begins. Flowing paint, lovely roller, covered wall. You’re good to go. You can paint a little

Try carrying your tall café latté in the rains! One hand full of your stuff, the other has an umbrella….get the drift? The solution is to get a functional Umbrella, like the one designed by Jung-Woo Lee. A convenient coffee-cup rim integrated into the handle solves the issue. I say cheers to more coffee and bring on the rains! Designer: Jung-Woo Lee for Ek Design

Many may not be aware but our ed-in-chief Long Tran is in the process of building up his fashion line for men, and I helped him out a bit by getting some T-shirts dyed here in India. While I received his package in good shape, sending the Tees back in this big brown box was a nightmarish story! Triple rounds of duct tape and many snips later, the box still looked a bit insecure to me. Concepts like “No More Tape And Scissors” can come in handy for folks like me, who don’t ship goods on a regula

Do you have unsightly nails sticking out of your walls? You generally don’t but for argument’s sake, if you did….would you let it be there like an eyesore or cover it up with a happy face Nail Cap? Pulling it out can be an option; but imagine capped nails delightfully doubling up as pegs to hang your keys and stuff. How Kitsch!
