SOMA by Ayala Serfaty
by sabine7 / November 20, 2009

SOMA, the Greek word for body, is an installation representing the topography of light by Ayala Serfaty. Thin glass filaments are woven to produce spatial structures that are ultimately sprayed with a polymer to generate a skin-like layer, a membrane of sorts. It has taken six years to develop SOMA, after many landscape formations that have resulted in this final version. The effect is akin to glowing leaves of snow.
