solar pileus

A floating parasol, which shields earth during the day and lights up your room in the night, is a new invention to combat global warming. The intelligently designed “Solar Pileus” is an umbrella shaped balloon jam-packed with helium gas that keeps it at a height during the daytime, covering the earth from the direct sunlight. It also features the tendency of absorbing solar energy through its solar photovoltaic cells, thus functioning as a uniquely charged lamp, flying high to touch the ceiling of your room. The outer skin is embedded with the solar cells and inner side incorporates organic EL, effectively performing two reverse actions of shading and lighting. The design looks appealing in number of color tones, acting as a style statement when you are out in the sun and throws different hues in the dark, revealing your mood and emotions.
