“Living in the city isolates us from the natural world. Built environments are barriers to greenery, fresh air, sea breezes and sunlight. Skyscrapers soar above us instead of trees, while lane way stench emanates from the city grid.”
Bio-Accessories is an an experimental design collaboration between Brittany Veitch and Ben Landau, Industrial Designers from Melbourne, Australia.
Bio-accessories is a series of wearable couture jewellery which mask the unpleasant sights, sounds and scents of the city in an attempt to bring some of the natural world back into civil living.
Ben is our resident photographer here at Design Droplets and Brittany was profiled on Design Droplets earlier in the year.
Bio-accessories will show as part of Craft Victoria’s Craft cubed – exhibiting at the Melbourne City Library for the month of August. There will be a artist’s talk at 2pm on Saturday the 8th of August.
