Join a young and progressive Design School, exploring the junction between Digital Media, Industrial Design, Interaction Design and Culture+Context. We invite applications for a Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in Industrial Design to take a leading role in building a strong Industrial Design teaching and research culture with a distinctive character that is internationally acknowledged and recognised.
The position focuses on an experimental, inquisitive, creative and multi-disciplinary approach to design. A significant challenge will be to align the Industrial Design programme with the Culture+Context and Digital Media programmes as well as other faculties within VUW. It is also an opportunity to assist in redefining Industrial Design at VUW in response to the rapidly developing field of digital technologies.
Candidates with recognised high quality professional expertise in Industrial Design and who hold a Masters or PhD degree (or equivalent) in Industrial Design, who have recognised research achievements and/or creative outputs, will be given preference for the position.
