Beyond Design, Inc., an award winning product development firm located in Chicago, have established themselves as premier product development specialists and are actively seeking to add a Manager Of Industrial Design with 9+ years experience in product development to join our team.

As the Manager Of Industrial Design you will be responsible for working directly with Account Managers and clients, to establish project strategies and successfully lead design teams. You will be required to conduct research and synthesize findings that support innovation and superior product development.

You must be able to quickly identify problems and present solutions that satisfy project requirements. You will be expected to manage 3-5 projects at a time and oversee all deliverables, insuring quality, project schedules and budgets are met.

Additional responsibilities include “working on-the board” side by side with other designers and mechanical engineers. Through these efforts a team-like spirit will be developed and a “mentor” relationship will be established. You must be able to lead through example.

Strong knowledge for manufacturing processes with excellent CAD development (SolidWorks and/or Pro/E). Must have experience with: injection molding, pressure forming, rotational molding, metal forming, casting, extrusion and other manufacturing processes.

As the Manager Of Industrial Design you must be able to work independently as well as in team environments. By maintaining an entrepreneurial spirit, you will implement the company’s short-range and long-range objectives.

You must have excellent verbal and written skills to promote design excellence and secure meaningful competitive advantages for Beyond Design. Your contribution will directly affect the quality and profitability of the business. Candidates for this position must have a Bachelor of Industrial Design or an equivalent degree from a reputable University that is affiliated with IDSA.

You must have a diverse background in both consumer and industrial product categories with a strong emphasis on form development and design for manufacturing. You must be a quick thinker, articulate and well organized.
