unity stool

Using the repetition of one element to create different functional forms, designer Olivia Bradateanu has come up with a flexible, modular and playful furniture design for use in the home. The Unity Stool, as the designer calls her furniture design, presents a simple yet functional design through minimal use of material and hardware. The versatile furniture featuring multiple elements creates opportunities for more configurations and furniture options for seating, shelves and other storage. Technically, the system uses multiple half round bent plywood parts (1/2″ thick and 12″ in diameter) with two slots strategically cut into the curve to act as joints to the next piece. Furniture-grade felt lines the edges for a softer and quieter connection between the elements.
