She received a Master of Science from Columbia University, and her Bachelor of Arts from Manhattanville College. She is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and the Economic Club of New York. She was appointed to serve on the Secretary of State's Advisory Committee on Transformational Diplomacy in September 2006.
